Welcome to our new segment of VENDOR SPOTLIGHT! We gathered hundreds of vendors via our Instagram and TikTok page from all over the country to showcase their services within the wedding industry. We will be interviewing these companies for you and gathering their insight and professional opinions when it comes to hiring them, or when it comes to hiring a profession like them, near you. Today we’re bringing Porterville, California to you!

Here at The Wedding Duo, we offer virtual wedding planning packages. Which in short means we help you plan the wedding of your dreams, from afar! Narrowing down vendors near you that align with your vision is just one way we hope this segment benefits you in your planning. With this segment we are hoping to reach companies all over the country to spotlight their work and gather information for couples near them or traveling to the area for a destination wedding.

WHO ARE YOU AND WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED:

We are Rocket Entertainment and we are located in Porterville California.  

TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOUR COMPANY: 

We are a family owned business, founded by my grandfather that started out as backyard boogies here in Porterville, California. In 2014 I bought turntables and built the company from backyard boogies to weddings and Quinces. We offer DJ, photo booth, and photography services.

Being a family owned business, I am the DJ, my grandfather manages the audio and setting up the equipment, my mother runs the Photo Booth, and we have a family friend who does the photography.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE YOUR FUTURE COUPLES:

My advice would be to book your vendors in advance, if possible. I would also suggest to do your research on the company and who they are too see if they would be a good match for your event.

WHAT’S ONE QUESTION A COUPLE MUST ASK THEIR DJ:

I would say you must ask your DJ how they interact with the guests, (do you want them to interact more or less?) be sure to be on the same page with this. I would also be on the same page as far as taking requests go. If a guest asks the DJ to play a song, would you be okay with that, or would you want the DJ to stick to the playlist they were given.

AS A DJ WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR MOST ASKED QUESTIONS:

As a DJ with Rocket Entertainment, our most ask question is “Can you separate the services?” and the answer is yes, you can choose to only hire me as your DJ though we do offer photo booth, and photography services as well.

WHAT TYPE OF PACKAGES DO YOU OFFER? 

We offer multiple packages depending on if you are looking for something simple or going all out. Our starting package is $2,000 with ceremony included, if it’s in the same location as the reception venue. You’ll have lighting for the dance floor, and uplighting with a monogram as well. * Things are booking fast, and we still have some June 2023 availability!

HOW FAR DO YOU TRAVEL, IF YOU DO: 

We travel anywhere from 20 to 100 miles from Porterville California, though we are open to rock any wedding in California so don’t hesitate to reach out!

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE PART OF BEING A DJ:

My favorite part of being a DJ is seeing everyone on the dance floor having a good time and singing to the music! I love watching everyone bring the energy you’d hope for when making the grand entrance announcements. And of course when guests come up to you at the end of the night with nothing but compliments is always a good feeling.

WHAT MAKES YOU THE HAPPIEST WORKING IN THE WEDDING INDUSTRY:

Nothing makes me happier and feel more accomplished than when I see my couples having a great time with my services, and the thank you’s/reviews we get for helping create a night they will always remember.

Though I have many, one of my favorite memories is when I played “La Chona” at an Asian wedding and watched everyone on the dance floor get excited. Watching other cultures come together and reacting to different music that isn’t usually played for them got me really excited, and that no matter where you come from, music will always get you on the dance floor!

A little fun fact about me is that I love mixing up different genres of music, from country to hip hop to Spanish, I love being open to playing a little bit of everything!
