You know the phrase, “When you know, you know”? That could easily be Gracie and Adam’s motto. They met in their high school marching band—he was on bass drum, she was in the color guard—and sparks flew from their very first conversation. What began as a teenage crush grew into a steady, enduring love over nine years of college degrees, career moves, relocations, and becoming pet parents. It all led to a starlit proposal on a Hawaiian beach, and she said yes!

The Venue: Cape Horn Estate

Perched above the breathtaking Columbia River Gorge, Cape Horn Estate offers views that truly stop you in your tracks. Craggy mountaintops, sweeping river vistas, and the Pacific Northwest’s iconic pine forests create a setting that feels both grand and intimate.

Gracie and Adam chose to host their entire wedding day outdoors, allowing guests to dine in the open air and dance beneath the stars. The landscape surrounding them, shaped over thousands of years, mirrored the enduring nature of their love story. It was the perfect backdrop for a celebration so rooted in meaning.

A Thoughtful DIY Approach

As a teacher, Gracie has a natural gift for organization, which she brought into her wedding planning. By the time Sabrina stepped in six weeks before the big day, most of the details were already in place. Sabrina fine-tuned the timeline and took over vendor communication, giving Gracie the space to relax and fully embrace her role as the bride.

True to themselves, Gracie and Adam infused the day with personal touches. They baked their own cake and sourced faux florals, choosing to invest intentionally in what mattered most to them: an unforgettable venue, delicious food, and an exceptional photo and video team.

A Celebration Rooted in Family

Their loved ones passed the wedding bands among themselves before returning them for the exchange—a beautiful Irish tradition symbolizing the family’s love and support as they offer blessings over the marriage.

And then there was the father-daughter dance.

Gracie and her dad danced to “Gracie” by Ben Folds, a song he sang to her throughout her childhood. There wasn’t a dry eye in sight (ours included!). As parents of three ourselves, these are the moments that stay with us long after the last song plays.
